How this tool works

Compression currently runs on the Render API using PyMuPDF. It can reduce some PDFs, but it cannot guarantee a smaller file every time, especially when images are already optimized. This server-side tool is subject to the hosting plan’s available CPU, memory, request and upload limits.

No account is required to start using the tool.

Frequently asked questions

Will every PDF become smaller?

Not always. The result depends on fonts, images and how the original PDF was created.

Is compression processed locally?

No. The current compression endpoint sends the PDF to the Render server for temporary processing.
